Orlando, FL : Man faces charges in fatal crash on April 26th 2014
Authorities arrested an Orlando man after a fatal crash early Saturday morning.
Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol said Eduardo Medina failed to slow or stop for vehicles ahead of him that had slowed for a traffic signal at John Young Parkway and Deerfield Boulevard in south Orange County.
Investigators said Medina's car smashed into the vehicle ahead of him just after 2 a.m., knocking that vehicle into two other cars.
Officials said the man in the car that Medina hit died at a local hospital.
Troopers who investigated the crash arrested Medina on charges of DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide and refusing to submit to a DUI test.
The name of the driver who was killed was not immediately released because his relatives had not yet been notified.
The other two drivers in the crash, Hayley Cuevas, 22, of Kissimmee, and Priscilla Quezada, 26, of Carlisle, Pa., were not injured.
Cuevas' passenger, Gerardo Riverda, 20, of Kissimmee, suffered a minor injury.
