A Connecticut state senator has been hospitalized following a one-vehicle crash.
Police say a vehicle driven by State Sen. Andrew Maynard left the roadway and rolled down into an embankment Thursday afternoon on state Route 32 in Waterford. Police tell The Day of New London that the crash appears to have been caused by a medical condition.
Police say Maynard was taken to a hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown.
The Stonington Democrat suffered a major brain injury in July 2014 after falling from a staircase while helping a neighbor move furniture. The 53-year-old was in a hospital and rehabilitation center for nearly six months. He was re-elected to office in November 2014.
