Bloomer, AR : Sabastian County man killed while working on vehicle Tuesday on September 9, 2014

A Sebastian County man was killed after the car he was working on fell on him Tuesday afternoon. Lt. Philip Pevehouse with the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office said the man who appeared to be in his mid-30s was working on a Ford Taurus in hisDRIVEWAY in the 27000 block of Arkansas 22 in Bloomer when the floor jack that was holding the vehicle up fell over. A member of the man’s family found him underneath the vehicle. A neighbor called 911, Pevehouse said. EMS arrived about 12:15 p.m., but there was nothing they could do to revive the man. He died at the scene, Pevehouse said. Authorities have not released the man’s name, pending next-of-kin notification, Pevehouse said. The Sheriff’s Office will treat the incident as a death investigation. There did not appear to be any reason to suspect foul play, Pevehouse said.
