Lansing, MI : Boy narrowly escapes injury in crash near Holt Jr. High School Tuesday morning, September 27, 2016

An alert boy scrambled out of the way just before a vehicle flipped onto a sidewalk near Holt Junior High School Tuesday morning, pinning the bicycle he was riding to the pavement, police said.

Ingham County Sheriff's Lt. Dennis Hull said the boy was waiting at a crosswalk at the corner of North Aurelius Road and Sycamore Street around 7:45 a.m. when he noticed the crash developing and jumped off his bicycle, possibly saving his life.

Hull said the boy is a student at the junior high. He and two people involved in the crash were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

"Everyone is out of the hospital," Hull said on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred when the driver of a red Saturn sport-utility vehicle turned left in front of a silver sedan, Hull said. The Saturn ended up on its side.

Hull said he didn't know details about the victims, including their ages.
