ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, KY : Crews respond to semi crash on I-75 southbound in Rockcastle Co. on Wednesday, 17th January 2024

Kentucky State Police report that around 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, a collision occurred at mile marker 68 on I-75 southbound in Rockcastle County.

According to the Brodhead Fire Department, when arriving on the scene, there were two tractor-trailers involved with heavy entrapment. Officials say that they had to use the "jaws of life" to extricate the individual(s) trapped.

KSP says the interstate was shut down for five to six hours but has since reopened.

According to police, one driver was airlifted and transported to UK Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
