Knoxville, TN : Driver dead in a wrong-way crash on James White Parkway near Summit Hill on early Monday morning September 15th 2014
Knoxville police identified the driver killed in a crash on James White Parkway near Summit Hill early Monday morning.
Investigators said they believe Clark Hill, 33, of Corryton was speeding when he hit a concrete street lamp where the ramps from I-40 eastbound and westbound converge onto James White Parkway. Hill was traveling the wrong way, according to a police release.
Officials pronounced Hill dead at the scene shortly after 2:15 a.m. Officials confirmed Hill was wearing a seat belt, but police don't know if he was driving under the influence. The crash closed the ramps until 5:15 a.m.
The accident is still under investigation.
