Birmingham ,AL :18-wheeler crash, fuel spill on I-20/59 Monday ,July 13th 2015

Birmingham police are on the scene of a crash involving an 18-wheeler on Interstate 20/59 near Arkadelphia Road.

Birmingham police Lt. Theophilius Smith said three of the roadway's four eastbound lanes are shut down. The crash also resulted in a fuel spill, he said. There were no injuries.

Representatives from the Alabama Department of Transportation and the Emergency Management Agency are on the scene, as well as Birmingham police and fire. The crash remains under investigation by the police department's Traffic Unit.

It wasn't immediately clear how long the roadway would be blocked. Traffic appears to be backed up to Fairfield.
