THOMASVILLE, NC : Thomasville fire truck flips after SUV collision en route to I-85 south traffic accident on Sunday, 17th December 2023

Just after 1:00 a.m. Sunday, Thomasville emergency responders were called to a traffic crash with a person reportedly pinned under a vehicle on I-85 south near Fisher Ferry Street.
Thomasville Fire Department Engine 23 was dispatched and quickly en route. The fire truck slowed as it approached the intersection with West Holly Hill Road Extension. A GMC Terrain heading west on West Holly
Hill Road entered the intersection, and hit the fire truck. Engine 23 was hit in the right front passenger area, with both vehicles estimated to be driving at 35 mph.
The force of the impact caused the fire truck to overturn on Lake Road near I-85. The SUV driver and one firefighter were soon hospitalized to Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center (TMC) with minor injuries. Two other firefighters also received precautionary
