Igo ,CA : 35 - Years Old Matthew Latimer arrested after he crashed his car while drunk on Friday afternoon ,April 10th 2015

A Redding man was arrested after officers say he crashed his car while drunk near Igo Friday afternoon.

Matthew Latimer, 35, crashed his 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage into a 2004 Buick Rendezvous driven by Mary L. Cahill, 53, of Redding, on Placer Road just east of Igo, said officers with the California Highway Patrol.

They said they went to the area of Placer Road and Digger Way at 4:30 p.m. after receiving reports of the wreck. They said their investigation revealed Latimer was driving fast and eastbound on Placer Road when he veered to the right and overcorrected, hitting Cahill's westbound vehicle.

He showed "objective signs and symptoms of impairment" and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, officers said.
