CHARLOTTE, NC : Section of Freedom Drive closed after crash takes down power lines on Friday, 19th January 2024

A section of Freedom Drive in west Charlotte has reopened after being closed due to downed communication lines, officials said.
Multiple crews responded to a crash that knocked down a utility pole and power lines along Freedom Drive near Alleghany Street early Friday. Both directions of Freedom Drive were expected to be closed until Friday afternoon while Duke Energy works to repair the utility pole and power lines.
