Wrong-way crash leaves at Atlantic Beach Bridge 1 hurt on April 24th 2014 Atlantic Beach Bridge in Nassau County.

ATLANTIC BEACH (WABC) -- One person is in the hospital in serious condition after an accident on Long Island early Friday.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on the Atlantic Beach Bridge in Nassau County.

Authorities say one vehicle was traveling north in the southbound lanes.

Route 878 was closed southbound at Cedarlawn Avenue extending to the bridge.
The investigation is ongoing.
