Des Moines,IA : Off-road riders recovering after collision on June, Saturday 24th 2017

The two men who were injured Saturday afternoon when they collided head-on while riding an ATV and a dirt bike are recovering at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

Dennis Brown, 34, of Gilmore City, and Sonny Dreesman, 27, of Fort Dodge, both suffered facial fractures as a result of the crash, according to Dreesman’s wife, RaeChel Dreesman.

RaeChel Dreesman said doctors told her that the two men broke nearly every bone in their faces.

Both will be on no-chew diets for a month, she said.

Brown also suffered injuries to his back, according to RaeChel Dreesman.

RaeChel Dreesman said she was there when the crash happened on private property.

Brown and Sonny Dreesman collided at 1627 220th St., west of Fort Dodge Saturday.

“When they came around the building, they collided with each other,” she said.

Brown was driving the ATV. Sonny Dreesman was driving the dirt bike
