BRANDON, FL : Head-on collision kills Lakeland man on April, Saturday 1st 2017

A 42-year-old Lakeland man died Saturday afternoon after a head-on collision on State Road 39 in Brandon, Hillsborough County sheriff’s officials said.
Gannier Fulghum Jr. was driving a Toyota Camry south on SR 39 when he crossed into the northbound lane, though it’s not clear why, deputies said. The Camry collided with a Chevrolet Sonic driven by Wendy Akins, 47, of Riverview, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
Fulghum was taken to Brandon Hospital where he died.
Akins was taken to Tampa General Hospital in critical but stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, deputies said.
