POWESHIEK COUNTY, IA : 13-year-old killed, 11-year-old injured in Poweshiek County crash on Friday, 23rd May 2024

A 13-year-old is dead following a Friday evening crash in Poweshiek County.

According to a crash report from Iowa State Patrol, an 11-year-old was driving a 2016 Polaris Ranger Crew southeast on 230th Street onto 450th Avenue, southeast of Guernsey, shortly before 5:30 p.m. While attempting to navigate the curve, the driver lost control, and the vehicle rolled onto the driver's side into a nearby ditch, killing a 13-year-old passenger.
