Dallas, TX : 3 die in fiery crash with dump truck on Airport Freeway in Irving early Sunday, November 6, 2016

Three people were killed and a fourth was critically injured early Sunday when a pickup rear-ended a dump truck and burst into flames on Airport Freeway in Irving.

The pickup was headed west on State Highway 183 about 3:30 a.m. when it struck a fully loaded dump truck, police spokesman James McLellan said.

Investigators suspect the dump truck was traveling under the speed limit and the pickup may have speeding with the crash occurred.

Two men and a woman in the pickup died at the scene. Another man was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in critical condition. The truck driver was unharmed.

No names were released pending notification of their families.
McLellan said speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash.
