RACINE, WI : Woman injured in crash at Maryland and Meachem on Friday, 30th March 2018
A woman reportedly sustained a serious leg injury in a crash Friday afternoon on the city’s far southwest side.
The call came in at 1:55 p.m. Friday for a report of a crash with possible entrapment and multiple injuries at Meachem Road and Maryland Avenue.
The vehicles involved were a Chevrolet sedan and a Nissan sedan, both of which sustained heavy damage.
Police at the scene refused to provide any details on the crash, but a witness confirmed what police radio traffic indicated about a female occupant of the Nissan sustaining a visible leg injury. She turned out not to be trapped in the vehicle and was transported to Ascension All Saints hospital by Racine paramedics.
Two adults and children in the Chevrolet apparently were not seriously injured and were not immediately transported to the hospital.
Meachem Road was closed to southbound traffic between Durand Avenue and Taylor Avenue while the crash scene was cleared. Mount Pleasant police assisted at the scene.
