Motorcyclist killed, bicyclist hurt in separate crashes on Otay Lakes Road near Jamul

A motorcyclist was killed and a bicyclist injured in two of three separate crashes Sunday on a stretch of Otay Lakes Road near Jamul, according to authorities.
The motorcyclist was killed in the last of the crashes, all of which occurred on Otay Lakes Road at around 11 a.m., according to Cal Fire Battalion Chief Nick Schuler.
The rider died at the scene, Schuler said.The bicyclist was struck by a vehicle in the second of the crashes on portion of the roadway between state Route 94 and the Pio Pico campground, according to Schuler. The injured bicyclist was airlifted to a hospital, he said.
The other crash was reported about 10:50 a.m., and also involved a motorcycle, according to the CHP.
Otay Lakes Road was closed following the wrecks, the CHP reported.
