Tampa,FL : Multi-vehicle crash snarls I-4 traffic at McIntosh Road on April, Monday 2nd 2018

A trailer flipped on Interstate 4 in a three-vehicle crash that sent multiple people to local hospitals and diverted eastbound traffic.

Those hurt sustained non-life-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Steve Gaskins, spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol.

Details of the crash are limited, but Gaskins said after the trailer flipped, its cargo spilled onto I-4 just before 10 a.m.

Motorists were told to seek a detour if possible. Affected were the eastbound lanes of the interstate at McIntosh Road, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Traffic was diverted through a weigh station.
