Plain Dealing, LA : Man died in a two car accident in Bossier Parish on Sunday evening August 17th 2014
State police are investigating a two car accident in Bossier Parish that claimed the life of a Plain Dealing man
Trooper Matt Harris says the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday on Louisiana Highway 3 south of Plain Dealing.
Harris says a car being driven by 68-year-old Joseph Mims was southbound and attempted to pass four other southbound cars.
Harris says Mims swerved back into the southbound lane to avoid a head-on collision and struck a car driven by 33-year-old Jonathon Booth of Shreveport and caused both vehicles to lose control, exit the roadway, and crash.
Harris says Mims, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bossier Parish Coroner's Office. Booth was not injured.
