Plain Township, OH : Motorcyclist killed after crashing into deer on Highway 2A on Monday evening July 21st 2014

A 21-year-old man is dead following a motorcycle crash Monday evening in Wayne County.

The Wooster post of the Highway Patrol says David Hayhurst III of Shreve (Wayne County), was driving southbound on Township Road 36 on a Yamaha Star when he struck a deer that entered the roadway near Township Road 152.

The impact caused the motorcycle to overturn around 9:18 p.m. and Hayhurst was ejected.

Hayhurst was flown to Akron City Hospital where he underwent surgery for injuries he sustained in the crash, but he later died.

Authorities say Hayhurst was not wearing a helmet.

This marks the 9th fatal crash in Wayne County this year.
