Orlando, FL : Cops identify woman killed in Howey-in-the-Hills crash on Saturday August 27, 2016

Investigators have identified a 52-year-old woman who died Saturday in a head-on crash in Howey-in-the-Hills as Tara Leigh Terhune of Groveland.

Terhune's 2015 Nissan Altima crossed into oncoming traffic on State Road 19 just north of East Revels Road and collided with a 2000 Ford Explorer about 4:20 p.m., a police report states.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, Fred Carter, was trapped inside, extricated and airlifted to Ocala Regional Medical Center with extensive injuries.

The sport utility vehicle flipped over, but four men ran over and rolled it upright, the report shows.

The area where the crash took place is rural and surrounded by orange groves.
