Longview,TX : Longview man injured in Terry County motorcycle crash on May, Thursday 17th 2018

A Longview man was seriously injured in Terry County after crashing his motorcycle in what investigators believe was a weather-related accident Thursday.

According to a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, officials were called at approximately 5:15 p.m. in reference to the single motorcycle crash that happened four miles north of U.S. 62/82 in the northbound lanes. The driver, 74-year-old Jimmie Joe Wilson, was transported by ambulance to University Medical Center in Lubbock with incapacitating injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicated the crash was weather-related, as there was heavy rainfall and hail at the time of the crash. An ambulance crew from Lovington, New Mexico came upon the crash and was able to assist Wilson before Brownfield EMS transported him to UMC, according to the release.
