Oconee County, S.C : 63-year-old Salem woman died in crash on North Highway 11 near Lay Mill Bridge on Tuesday morning, February 16, 2016

A 63-year-old Salem woman died after crashing her car Tuesday morning on an icy road, according to Oconee County coroner Karl Addis.

Judy Tilson crashed just before 6 a.m. on North Highway 11 near Lay Mill Bridge, Addis said. The wreck was not reported until an hour later when someone came upon the wreck and called 911.

Tilson was taken to Oconee Memorial Hospital where she died from blunt force chest trauma.

Addis said Tilson was on her way to work when she crashed. He said icy road conditions contributed to the crash.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
