Lake Seminole, FL : Pinellas Park woman, 20, killed in crash involving two speeding pickup trucks on Monday, 19th November 2018

A 20-year-old Pinellas Park woman was killed and two others seriously injured Monday in an early evening crash near Lake Seminole, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to FHP, Annmarie Desocio, 74, of Largo, was driving a 2002 Lexus ES300 east down 102nd Avenue N around 6:30 p.m. In the car with her was 20-year-old Hailey Marie Mullen. As they approached 97th Street N, just east of the bridge crossing Lake Seminole, Luciano Gomes, 53, of Redington Shores, was driving a 2018 Ford Raptor west on 102nd Avenue next to an unidentified pickup truck believed to be a green Chevrolet Silverado.

Troopers said Gomes and the Silverado were traveling down the road "at a high rate of speed." Desocio tried to make a left turn onto 97th Street N under a green light as the two speeding trucks approached. Gomes' truck hit the passenger side of Desocio's Lexus, sending it spinning in the intersection. His truck went through the intersection and turned over. Troopers said the Silverado might have been hit by Gomes' Raptor, but the truck fled the scene after the crash.

Mullen was pronounced dead at the scene. Desocio was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with critical injuries. Gomes was taken to Largo Medical Center in serious condition.
