Branch, LA : One person injured after fatal two-vehicle accident on La. Highway 35 in Acadia Parish on Sunday, Oct 11, 2015

State police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle accident on Louisiana Highway 35 in Acadia Parish.

Master Trooper Brooks David says 24-year-old Jean Mouille was traveling north on Highway 35 when he tried to pass 34-year-old Crystal Castille and hit the rear left side of her car with the front right side of his pickup.

David says the impact caused Castille to run off the right side of the road and strike a utility pole.

Although she was wearing a seat belt, Castille suffered critical injuries. David says was taken to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

He says Mouille was booked on counts of vehicular homicide, reckless operation, open container and illegal window tint.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Mouille.
