Topeka, KS : Woman hurt in car accident in 6000 block of S.E. 2nd on Monday, March 27, 2017

A Topeka woman suffered minor injuries in a traffic accident about 7:20 a.m. Monday east of Topeka, Shawnee County Sheriff Herman Jones’ office reported.

Gretchen Fortune, 38, was taken to a Topeka hospital, the sheriff’s office indicated on its Facebook site.

That site indicated Fortune was alone driving a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta eastbound in the 6000 block of S.E. 2nd when it left the road, “entered the ditch, crossed a field access, and came to rest in some trees.”

The Shawnee Heights Fire Department and American Medical Response ambulance company assisted at the scene.
