MOBILE, AL : Vehicle pursuit ends with crash on Dauphin Island Parkway on Wednesday, 3rd January 2024

A vehicle pursuit ended Wednesday night with a crash in the 1800 block of Dauphin Island Parkway, according to the Mobile Police Department.

The suspect’/s vehicle crashed near Magnolia Lane shortly after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan 3.

Police said officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle driving recklessly south on Dauphin Island Parkway. The officers activated their lights and sirens, and the driver refused to stop, police said.

The MPD said that moments later the vehicle struck a utility pole. Both the 19-year-old driver and the passenger of the vehicle were taken to University Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
