Downer, MN : Three people injured in I-94 rollover east of Moorhead on Saturday, July 9, 2016
A rollover crash just east of Moorhead injured three people, one of them seriously, Saturday, July 9, a Minnesota State Patrol spokesman said.
The rollover occurred about 4 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 94 near milepost 12, the patrol reported.
A 2013 Ford Escape blew a tire, which was in poor condition, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which went into a ditch.
Sgt. Jesse Grabow said preliminary information indicates that two people thrown from the vehicle were not wearing seatbelts.
The other person in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.
The Patrol identified the driver of the vehicle as Saleem Saleem, 22, Detroit, Mich. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
One passenger, Saif Saleem, 19, also of Detroit, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
A second passenger, Salah Mohammad, 52, of Detroit, suffered serious injuries.
Deputies from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene, the Patrol reported.
