Seminole County, FL : Deltona man dead, 2 other men seriously injured in crash on State Road 46 on Monday, 2nd December, 2019
A man is dead, and two others have serious injuries after a Monday morning crash between two vehicles on a Seminole County highway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred when two vehicles collided at around 5:50 a.m. on State Road 46 and Bella Foresta Place, said FHP’s Lt. Kim Montes.
Angel Ocasio Rodriguez, 48 of Deltona, was driving east on State Road 46 along with 18-year-old Jacob Arroyo of Grand Island in a 2005 Toyota while a 2017 Ford pickup truck was driving west on State Road 46, Montes said.
Rodriguez was passing eastbound traffic by entering the westbound lane, Montes said. The truck swerved to miss the Toyota, but both entered the eastbound lane and collided into each other head-on, Montes said. The Toyota then caught fire.
Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene, Monte said. Arroyo was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital and is a critical state, Montes said.
Meryck Foster, 37 of Lake Helen, was the driver of the Ford and received serious injuries. He was also taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital, Montes said. The crash remains under investigation.
No information about the occupants of the other vehicles was made available.
