Oneonta man killed in motorcycle crash near Bessemer Alabama

Authorities have identified a man killed this morning in a motorcycle crash on the interstate in Bessemer.Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Bill Yates identified the man as Jimmy Wayne Isbell, 43, of Oneonta.

The accident happened about 5 a.m. on Interstate 59/20 at exit 104 to Rock Mountain Lakes.Bessemer Deputy Chief Mike Roper said a vehicle lost a load of luggage on the interstate.

While they were trying to get traffic stopped to clear the clothing off the roadway, the motorcyclist lost control, hit a tractor trailer and then was thrown from the motorcycle.
