Gaston, OR : Seven people injured in a two car crash in Washington County on Saturday, May 28, 2016
Seven people were hurt in a two car crash in Washington County near Gaston.
Oregon State Police and emergency crews responded to the crash at around 10:30 Saturday night on Highway 47 at Seghers Road.
Troopers say a 2003 Ford F-350 pickup was heading south on Highway 47, waiting to turn left onto Seghers Road when it was hit from behind by a 2009 GMC Acadia SUV.
The crash sent the pickup across the northbound lane of Highway 47 and into the ditch.
The driver of the GMC, 45-year-old Theresa Tricarico, of Gaston, had to be extricated from the SUV and was airlifted to OHSU with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
Her five passengers all had minor injuries and were taken to OHSU by ambulance.
The driver of the pickup, 50-year-old Eileen “Michelle” Korman of Gaston, had minor injuries and was taken to Saint Vincent Hospital in Portland.
The highway was closed for a short amount of time so the helicopter could land.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
