JANESVILLE, WI : One person dead after crash in Janesville on Sunday, February 12th 2017
A 24-year-old Chicago woman died in a traffic crash Saturday in Janesville.
At 11:30 p.m., the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash on Interstate 90/39.
A Chevrolet Equinox traveling north left the road just north of the East Racine Street overpass and rolled an unknown number times in the right ditch, according to a news release from the state patrol.
The 24-year-old, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was ejected and ended up under the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the news release.
The driver, a 36-year-old man from Marshfield, and another passenger, a 46-year-old man whose place of residence was not released, were transported to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital—Janesville with non-life threatening injuries.
No one was wearing a seat belt, according to the news release. The accident remains under investigation.
Names of those involved in the crash have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
