Northbound lanes of I-293 in Manchester were closed Thursday after a crash that seriously injured a pedestrian.
Police said a 45-year-old man abruptly pulled his car over shortly before 4:30 p.m. and got out of the vehicle. He was then struck by a tractor-trailer and seriously injured, police said.Investigators said they don't yet know why the man stopped and got out of his car. The driver of the tractor-trailer remained at the scene of the crash and was talking with police.
The crash happened in the area of Exit 6, and all northbound lanes were shut down for some time. One lane was reopened by 5:30 p.m., and all lanes were back open before 6 p.m.
