Lansing,MI : Car crash kills passenger, 85, in Rochester Hills on December, Wednesday 6th 2017

A traffic crash in Rochester Hills claimed the life of an 85-year-old Troy woman and seriously injured the driver of the car she was riding in on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado collided with a 2002 Buick Regal which was crossing all lanes of E. Auburn Road as the driver, an 86-year-old Troy man, tried to get to a private driveway shortly before 3 p.m. The Regal was then pushed into a 2014 Buick Enclave stopped in a driveway on the same road.

The Regal’s passenger had to be extricated and then was transported to Beaumont Hospital-Troy where she was pronounced dead. The driver was also taken to Beaumont with serious injuries and was listed in stable condition Thursday.

Neither the Silverado driver or Enclave driver were injured.

Occupants of all vehicles involved were wearing seatbelts and alcohol is not a factor in the crash, the sheriff’s office said. The accident remains under investigation.
