COVENTRY, RI : One dead in Coventry ATV crash on Friday, 14th September 2018

A Coventry man and Johnston woman were killed in a ATV crash early Friday morning in a rural neighborhood along the Coventry-Scituate border.

Police said the crash occurred at 12:55 a.m. around 380 Hope Furnace Rd. The driver, Ryan Kennedy, 23, of Coventry, and a passenger, Jennifer Silva, 18, of Johnston, were taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Kennedy was pronounced dead at the hospital and Silva later died of her injuries.

Central Coventry Fire District and Hope Jackson Fire District in Scituate responded to the crash scene, along with police officers from both towns.

The crash is still under investigation, and authorities did not release more information Friday night.
