Lowndes County, AL : Texas man dies in a crash near Fort Deposit on Monday morning, January 9, 2017

A crash early this morning in Lowndes County left a Texas man dead.

Angel Alberto Soto, of San Antonio, was a passenger in a 2016 Dodge Journey when the car left the roadway and hit a guardrail at approximately 1:40 a.m. Monday.

Soto, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene, Corporal Jess Thornton said.

The incident happened on Interstate 65 near mile marker 148, about six miles north of Fort Deposit.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating the crash.
