JR Allen Parkway was reopened at 6 p.m. Wednesday and officials said westbound traffic was flowing across into Phenix City again.

Original story: The westbound lanes of JR Allen Parkway near the bridge between Phenix City and Columbus remain closed and could remain closed until at least 5 p.m., police say, after an 18-wheeler overturned in a crash early Wednesday morning.

The westbound lanes just before the bridge into Phenix City were blocked as crews worked to clean up the scene of an accident where two tractor trailers collided Wednesday.

Sgt. Art Sheldon said that the trailer has moved, but the contents of the trailer still need to be picked up.
