Dothan, AL : Man killed in fiery three-vehicle crash from Dothan on Friday, February 25th 2017
A man killed Friday in a three-vehicle crash in Geneva County has been identified.
According to Alabama State Troopers, Gerald W. Stephenson, 58, of Dothan was killed when the GMC Sierra truck he was driving was struck by a 1994 Ford Ranger driven by Donald Harry Rhein, of Ponce De Leon, Fla.
A 2003 Ford Explorer driven by Lindsay T. Sparks, of Vernon, Fla., then struck Stephenson’s GMC which resulted in all three vehicles catching fire.
Stephenson was pronounced dead at the scene. Rhein was transported by air to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment of critical injuries. Sparks and three passengers in her vehicle were transported to Flowers Hospital in Dothan for treatment of their injuries.
The crash occurred at 8:35 a.m. Friday on Geneva County 49 at the intersection of Geneva County 4, one mile north of the Alabama-Florida state line. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
