Columbus, OH : One killed in fiery car-truck crash on February, Monday 26th 2018
A fiery crash between a tractor-trailer and a car left one person dead and closed the westbound lanes of Route 37 in Licking County’s Granville Township for more than 10 hours Monday.
The State Highway Patrol and fire units were initially called at 1:39 p.m. to westbound Route 37, east of Outville Road.
A cellphone video from a motorist identified as Janelle Lynn and broadcast by WSYX-TV (Channel 6) showed a crushed car in front of a semi with its trailer engulfed in flames. The truck cab was intact, but a trail of fire behind the truck suggested leaking diesel fuel from a punctured side tank had been ignited.
ODOT announced around 11 p.m. it expected the roadway to reopen around midnight.
