Louisville, KY : Three people died after a multi-vehicle head-on crash in Nelson County on Sunday morning, December 20, 2015

Three men are dead after a multi-vehicle head-on accident Sunday morning in Nelson County.

According to the Nelson County Sheriff's Department, crews responded to the scene just after 7 a.m. on a report of a head-on collision with an ejection and two people entrapped on Highway 31 East, also known as Louisville Road, between KY 509 and Wolf Bridge.

Tyler Foster, 25, Keaton Hall, 24, and Jordan Hickman, 24, were pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma, the Nelson County Coroner's Office released. All three men were from Bardstown and were riding in the same car.

According to Kentucky State Police, the 2011 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Hickman crossed the center line for unknown reasons and struck a 1996 Dodge pickup operated by Brian Waldridge, 20, of Bardstown. Waldridge was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital in serious condition.

The road was closed as KSP crews worked to reconstruct the accident, but it is now reopened. The accident is still under investigation by Trooper Scott Rafferty. KSP was assisted at the scene by Nelson County EMS, the Nelson County Sheriff's Office, the Bardstown Fire Department and the Nelson County Coroner.
