A Lebanon man was killed when he crashed his truck into a tractor on State Road 39 in Hendricks County.
Shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday, Hendricks County deputies responded to the area of S.R. 39 and S.R. 236, just northwest of Danville, on a report of a fatal accident, Capt. Amanda Goings, public information officer with the sheriff's department, said.
Police say Cecil L. Hillers, 75, was driving a GMC pickup truck southbound on S.R. 39 when he crossed the center line into the northbound lane and struck a John Deere farm tractor driven by Cory Turner, 18, of Greenfield.
Hillers was pronounced dead at the scene.
A witness said Turner slowed and tried to move out of the way of the pickup truck, but was unable to avoid the collision. Turner was not injured in the crash.
The roadway was closed and then opened for one lane until almost 10:30 p.m. when it was re-opened completely.
It is unknown at this time what may have caused Hillers to cross the center line.
