Baltimore, MD : David Andrew McMillan, 24, injured after struck a guardrail and flipped his car over it along I-270 on Tuesday, February 24, 2015

A West Virginia man was in fair condition Wednesday at a Baltimore hospital, the day after he struck a guardrail and flipped his car over it along I-270.
David Andrew McMillan, 24, lost control of his 1996 Ford Explorer while southbound on I-270 near the exit for Md. 80. The SUV skidded through a snow-covered median and flipped over the guardrail, state police said.
McMillan was not wearing a seat belt, and he was thrown from the vehicle. His injuries were serious, but they were not considered life-threatening.
McMillan was flown to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, where he was in fair condition Wednesday night, according to a hospital representative.
Nate Wagner, of Hagerstown, who witnessed the crash, said McMilllan did not appear to be exiting onto Md. 80, as state police said, but instead lost control and ended up near the exit ramp.
"And there just happened to be that Urbana exit there, he wasn't trying to take the exit, he just swerved, he lost control and there just happened to be that exit there," Wagner said.
McMillan was traveling at a high speed in the time leading up to crash, according to a Maryland State Police news release.
The crash remains under investigation, state police said Wednesday.
