ST. LOUIS, MO : 1 dead in single-car crash in West County on Saturday, 13th July 2024

An 18-year-old is dead after a single-car crash early Saturday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to I-170 and Olive Boulevard at around 2 a.m. Saturday for a single-car crash. A 2009 Honda Accord was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I-170 when the driver lost control of the car, causing it to drive off the right side of the road. The Honda then went through a guardrail, into a wall, overturned onto Olive Boulevard and caught on fire. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car was identified as Edith Pelaez Escobar, 18, of St. Louis, Missouri.

The crash was investigated by members of MSHP Troop C.
