Rochester, MN : One person died in a three-car crash on U.S. Highway 63 in Olmsted County on Wednesday, Nov 11, 2015

One person died in a three-car crash on U.S. Highway 63 three miles north of Rochester on Wednesday.

Daniel Atkinson, 65, of Plainview was driving southbound on Highway 63 at around 5:41 p.m., and a Lake City woman, 62, was headed northbound, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The two vehicles collided head on. Ronald Cuka, 46, of New London, was also heading southbound on Highway 63 when he struck the northbound vehicle.

The woman in the northbound vehicle died at the scene, according to the state patrol report. Her name has not been released yet. Atkinson and Cuka did not sustain any apparent injuries. At the time of the crash, it was raining and the road was wet, according to state patrol.

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, Elgin Fire and Gold Cross Ambulance assisted on scene.
