Joplin, MO : Galena man killed in single-car crash west of Joplin on Tuesday, December, 5th 2017
A Galena, Kansas, man was killed in a single-vehicle accident at 11:42 a.m. Tuesday on 13th Street, a mile west of Joplin in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Zachary R. Green, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by a Jasper County deputy coroner.
Green was a passenger in a westbound vehicle that ran off the road, struck a mailbox and overturned, throwing Green from the vehicle, the patrol said.
• A Joplin woman sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 6:30 p.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 37 at Wentworth in Newton County, according to the the state patrol.
Deborah L. Koehler, 57, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.
Koehler was a passenger in a southbound car driven by Gerold F. Koehler, 73, of Joplin, that was struck by a westbound pickup truck driven by Austin P. Boggs, 18, of Sarcoxie, when Boggs failed to yield the right of way crossing the highway, the patrol said.
