MOUNTAIN IRON, MN : Two parties were injured after their vehicle crash on April, Wednesday 19th 2017
Two parties were injured after their vehicle was sandwiched between two others following a rear-end collision Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred around 8:10 a.m. on Westbound Highway 169 at Park Ridge Drive in Mountain Iron, according to the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP).
Nick A. Pecha, 25, of Virginia, was distracted while driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla. The 2008 Ford van being driven by Peter J. Gornik, 27, of Gilbert, and the 2004 Pontiac Grand Am being driven by Doreen L. Posener, 58, of Virginia, that were in front of the Corolla had slowed down.
Pecha was unable to stop in time, rear-ended the Grand Am and pushed it into the van, according to the MSP report.
Posener and her passenger Sarah J. Posener, 18, also of Virginia, were both transported to Virginia Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash and airbags deployed.
Gornik and his passenger, Kyle R. Jacobson, 26, of Hibbing, were not injured. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. No airbags deployed.
Pecha was not injured. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and an airbag deployed.
Alcohol was not a factor. Road conditions were dry at the time.
