Springville, AL : One person killed after a fatal wreck involved car and van near Mile Marker 161 on Monday afternoon, May 11, 2015

One person was killed in a crash that shut down a portion of Interstate 59 northbound through St. Clair County for more than two hours Monday afternoon.

The crash involved a car and a van and occurred about 4:20 p.m. Monday afternoon near mile marker 161, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Trooper Chuck Daniel said.

For a time Monday afternoon, northbound traffic was diverted off I-59 at Exit 156 in Springville. The roadway was reopened about 7 p.m.
