ALTON, IL : A 28-year-old Alton man died on May, Friday, 19th 2017

A 28-year-old Alton man died early Friday after he lost control of his motorcycle while driving the Great River Road.

Michael J. Fraise, 28, of Alton was pronounced dead Friday morning as a result of the crash.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, sheriff’s deputies and Alton Police Department officers responded to a call at around 2:30 a.m. for a traffic crash on the River Road, approximately 1.5 miles southeast of Clifton Terrace Road in Godfrey. Responders located a deceased male who had been operating a motorcycle northbound on the River Road, the release said.The crash was investigated, and it was later determined that Fraise had lost control of the motorcycle while traveling at a high rate of speed. He struck a guard rail located on the bluff side of the roadway, sustaining fatal injuries as a result.
