Plainview, TX : Wheeler County crash kills one on Monday, September 4, 2017

The Texas Department of Public Safety was called to a one-vehicle crash Monday on US-83 in Wheeler County, resulting the death of one person.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, at approximately 12:58 a.m. Monday, Dean Miesner Jr., 51, of McDonald, Kan., was driving a 2003 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle north on US-83, approximately seven miles north of Wheeler.
Miesner crashed into a deer standing in the roadway and was ejected from the motorcycle. The motorcycle turned over onto its side and skid for several yards before coming to a rest.
Miesner was pronounced dead on scene by Wheeler County Justice of the Peace Mark Brown.
Miesner was wearing his helmet.
The road conditions were dry and no other vehicles were involved, reported DPS Sgt. Cindy Barkley of Amarillo.
