Lutz, FL : Construction worker hit, killed by car at I-75 overpass in Lutz on Wednesday morning, May 11, 2016
A construction worker who was doing maintenance on an Interstate 75 overpass died Wednesday morning after being hit by a passing car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Jaime Leyva Prawl, 59, of Largo was standing on the eastbound shoulder of County Line Road at the I-75 overpass about 8:30 a.m. when a 2012 Toyota Prius, driven by Kimberleigh Rice, 33, hit him.
Rice, of Tampa, was not injured. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, troopers said.
The wreck was still under investigation Wednesday.
